Before referring a child to special education, schools are required to implement Response to Intervention (RTI).

RTI is a multi-tiered approach that provides increasingly intensive interventions to help struggling students, like those with reading difficulties, catch up. Our program supports parents by helping them understand the RTI process, what interventions their child is receiving, and how they can track their child’s progress.

Tier 1

General classroom instruction with research-based methods.

Tier 2

Infusion of Kinship

Kinship networks in culturally rich communities have long been the foundation of effective organizing. By supporting and respecting these community-driven methods, we help families lead change in ways that are authentic to their cultural and community traditions.
